Dreamy Stays - Private Rooms with Shared Bathrooms

Positive: The beds were comfortable Negative: The walls were thin. The kitchen was dirty and there were ants crawling around on the tables next to the dishes that were supposed to be clean. Nobody put the dishes in the drawers after they were dry. The top drawer in the fridge in the rooms was all filled with ice and nothing could then be placed in the fridge.

Unpleasant stay with unacceptable hygiene problems. Positive: The facility was good. There was a little fridge, basin, TV, waredrobe in the room. That was exceptionally good. There’s no reception, but you can send a message to a the manager and he was responsive. Negative: I rarely write negative reviews, and throughout my life I have never had to complain about a hotel stay like this before. I usually try to be understanding and leave positive reviews whenever possible, but this experience was serious enough that I feel I need to share it. The smell in the room was unbearable from the moment I checked in. I contacted the manager immediately and asked if it was possible to move to another room. The manager kindly offered a full refund, but as I had nowhere else to go at that time, I decided to stay. After leaving the window open for 2-3 hours, the smell became slightly better than when I first arrived, so I told the manager that a refund was no longer necessary. However, the following night, I discovered a group of ants moving together on the floor, mainly in the corner on the right side of the bed. Since that area was hidden and difficult to see, I only noticed them by chance. Seeing them moving around in a group made me very concerned that they could get into my suitcases and belongings. I also found a small dead cockroach on the floor of the ladies’ toilet immediately after checking in. At first, I thought it was just an isolated incident and tried to ignore it. However, after discovering the ants as well, I became seriously concerned about the overall hygiene and cleanliness of the accommodation. Finding both cockroaches and ants in a guest room indicates that a thorough hygiene inspection and proper pest control are urgently needed. The smell was still noticeable when I checked out, even though it had improved slightly. The only reason I managed to complete my 2-night stay was because my check-out was the next day after discovering the ants. I appreciate that the manager offered a full refund, but this does not change the fact that there were significant hygiene issues that require immediate attention.

room 7 Positive: the location was good and good value for money. Negative: the towels were quite thin, and no kettle, but no milk, tea or coffee, kettle not provided in our room which I think is very normal to have. I know they had a kitchen which was usable with all amenities but if you wanted to have a cup of coffee you needed to take your coffee up the stairs to your room. Hard to connect the owners to ask questions.

Negative: $1300 for 5nights in a private room without own bathroom

Excellent Positive: The property is in a real great location, super central and walking distance to everything along with public transport links nearby. The kitchen facilities were excellent (the best we’ve had on all of our aus travels) - rice cooker, pans, microwaves, kettles, the list goes on! Not just the regular kettle and toaster. The bathrooms were great, always clean and shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided too. The rooms were spacious and really comfortable with a fridge and sink in the rooms too was a great addition to keep things in the room and save extra trips to the bathrooms. There’s also free laundry on the rooftop with air dryers and detergent which is a nice touch. The hosts were great when contacted had real prompt responses and even allowed us to check in from 10:30am! If i ever returned to Adelaide I would without a doubt stay here again ☺️
